Hi all you wonderful people. Hope you are having a great day.
Here in South Central Texas, the temperature is quite pleasant. It looks like it will rain soon. Recent rains have brought the grass, weeds, and trees back to life. We are experiencing spring type conditions in late October including wild flowers blooming.
By the way, do you ever look at the lovely flowers blooming on or close to the ground? Even during our long drought, there were amazingly beautiful, tiny ,flowers blooming on vines -plants- hugging the ground. If we will only pay attention, we can see God’s gift of special beauty all around us regardless of life’s circumstances.
Remember that yesterday I said that you could give Granny L. your prayer requests? Well, Granny L. is asking for all her friends to pray for her three ye

Do you ever feel like you have to get away from all the noise around you even when you are in a crowd? Do you sometimes feel alone even when you asre with other people? Granny suggests that you close your eyes and think of when and where you were or are happiest and calm. Ask the Lord to show you your very own special place. With practice, you will be able to retreat mentally and emotionally to this your secret place anytime anywhere. I learned about this exercise many years ago though adimittedly do not think of it often but being able to picture myself in that place has helped me deal with some very stressful times in my life. My secret is that I always meet Jesus there. He is a wonderful companion who can help bring you inner calm out of chaos.

Hope all you wonderful people are having a great day.
Here in South Ceneral Texas, it is warm and sunny although we are expecting rain. All the grasses, trees, and wildflowers are really pretty due to recent rains which relieved extreme drought conditions.
Yesterday I told you that you could submit prayer requests. Now, Granny L. is asking for you to pray for her three year old great-grandson Charlie who lost one eye to cancer and is now having to undergo chemo treatments. He is a precious little boy who is having to go through a lot.
Here are some ideas for yummy in your tummy stuff.
For a really delicious treat, peel a banana, slice it in half lengthwise, put in pan or glass baking dish, (optional squeeze little lemon juice on each half of the banana), using a small zip lock plastic bag with a small hole cut in one corner squeeze peanut butter down middle of each banana half, sprinkle some brown sugar on top of that, add ground nuts or coconut if you like, dot little bity pieces of butter on top of everything, andcook under the broiler a few minutes just long enough to melt the butter and brown sugar. Take out of oven and cool enough so it doesn’t burn your mouth. Yum, yum. For an extra special dessert, cool and top with a few dollups of whipped topping and sprinkle with either or both ground cinnamon and graham cracker crumbs.
For an elegant ending to any meal, take your dessert-uncut to the table flaming. Soak a few sugar cubes in most any liquid flavoring, place soaked sugar cubes on top of dessert and light. You will wow your family and guests.
Granny L. has had an idea for a poem mulling around in her head, so here goes:
l
THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE
As I walked down a hall one day,
I saw a person coming my way with head bent down.
There was no hair on her crown.
I wondered the reason,
Though she appeared to be in life’s late season,
In my imagination, I could see the lady and her lover
in their younger years.
Both were blessed with enviable tresses. The gents head
was covered with thick auburn curls and
The lady had long blonde hair.
It shimmered like strands of gold in the sunlight.
The two lived a long happy life.
Their love remained strong;
Although, sometimes life seemed a mess because of stress.
The love of his life is now his baldheaded wife.
That is all I have time for today.
Think happy, smile, and give each other hugs.
Love to all from Granny L.in her kitchen

Love and Life With Great-gdandma
Grandmaw’s Kitchen
Since families are so fragmented in todays society and many children don’t know much less get to spend time with their grandparents, I would like to invite children of all ages to share love and life with this great-grandma. You may call me Granny L. Granny L. will be able to relate to a lot that is going on in your lives.
Granny L’s main reason for writing this blog/newsletter is to let each individual know just how unique and special each of you is, and to tell you that God–your Heavenly really loves you- unconditionally. No matter what circumstances are in your lives, always remember that YOU ARE LOVED.
Granny L. has had a very interesting life during which she has experienced love, rejection, incest, death of parents (can’t say I actually knew them as I was not raised by them), and the death of my oldest son this year. Of course, there has been a lot to be grateful for through the years.
Granny probably isn’t aging very gracefully because she has been at the very awkward age for some time where she feels younger than her children are. She plans to always remain young at heart. How about some of you other older youngsters commenting on growing old?
